Hello, PAWS.
I am writing on behalf of a sick stray dog roaming near the entrance to my neighborhood. I first saw the dog just yesterday, the 25th of December. Yes—Christmas. And the poor creature is suffering.
I live in Pasig City, at Brgy. Pineda.
The dog is emaciated and mangy. And the place where he roams about has potential dangers like motor vehicles and soulless and cruel people (like the crook in a police uniform who I saw pick up a stone and gesture to throw it at the small creature as it released its bowels right in front of him).
I know the shelter is closed until the end of this holiday season, but maybe your members could still give a bit of help.
I could only do as much as give the dog some food if I happen to see it when I pass by. I want to bring it home, but there’s no place here where I could keep it. I want to bring it to Animal Clinic, which is just a short jeepney ride from the neighborhood, but their services are expensive and I think I would be unable to afford the treatment that the dog would require (and how do I get it there in the first place?). And the City Vet and CARA are out of the question, for I have asked for their assistance in a similar case a few months back but ended up disappointed (I would elaborate on this matter later if you wish).
Now with knowledge of the high number of dog adoptions this year, I hope the shelter has space for the dog in question.
More importantly I hope you and your supporters could help me help the dog.
Thank you.
