The most important thing is that I learn from them. :)

The PAWS shelter has been very busy but here are quick updates:
5. Our next shelter fundraiser: a Halloween pet costume contest at Eastwood City on October 26 (Sunday)! Exciting prizes await our lucky winners so please prepare your doggie dracula gear and kitty fairy costumes as early as now.
Lastly, a big "thank you" to those who responded to our call for cat food donations, including ten year-old Matthew, who donated his one-year savings to buy a sack of cat food for the PARC cats.

The PAWS shelter has been very busy but here are quick updates:
1. "Romeo" is a "Juliet"and she's ready to be adopted.
The dog in need of a bone pin operation is actually a female dog. Rescuers apologize for not having checked the dog's sex before giving him a name since they were so flustered about Romeo's, er. Juliet's condition at the time of the rescue.
The good news: Juliet has been spayed. The bone pin operation has successfully been accomplished by Dr. Donato and she is ready to go back to the PAWS shelter where prospective adopters can take a look at her. Donors who contributed to the cost of surgery and hospitalization: we will send you an updated photo and complete copy of receipts for the vet bills that you paid for. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
2.Re: RENO, the Cubao dog that Joe Claret emailed this group about - has also been successfully rescued. Ted Teodoro writes about it in his blog (click on link below):
3. Construction of Canine quarantine kennels completed! Thanks to those who supported our events and those who donated - there are no more newly-admitted dogs tied out in the "pasilyo" or walkways of PARC. All are snug and dry in their kennels including a litter of five puppies who were cruelly treated by their former owners.
4. Adoptions at an all-time high
For September, there was a total of five (5) dog and eleven (11) cat adoptions - the highest ever monthly adoption rate! Thanks to all those who helped us spread the word about our shelter animals and to sherwin's blog
Sherwin writes about the Tweety and Missy adoption in his post:

And to all others who didn't want their names mentioned here -THANK YOU.
We are so touched by the outpouring of support.
God bless you all!
