get to know more about REKLAMO

REKLAMO:

“COMPLAIN FOR CHANGE”
The war cry that the band is known for, “Reklamo” is solely dedicated to vent out frustrations, hate, envy for change towards anything and everything in the form of music. A three-piece rock band consisting of electric guitar, bass, and drums, their music is basically rock with a few twists and turns cornering certain areas’ like funk, jazz and country mixing it and ultimately creating their own brand of Rock.

The bands goal is to share their music to a wider audience they aim to reach out to listeners worldwide. Generally guitar heavy but with prominent bass lines and drum beats that meshes with all the bombardment of notes. It should be total chaos but somehow the band could still retain solidity in their music to ultimately create an intelligently orchestrated song

How does the band see their future? “Oversees man!” according to guitarist vocalist LC de Leon. “The music scene here is just too saturated, people I think are taking the bands for granted already because of the supply this country has so the demand is low.” Coming from an economist point of view the band has it figured out in more or less the point of every struggling artist. “I feel that some people are hungry for something new, some sort of a break away from the formulistic approach that has governed this scene, I’m not saying I’m against it, as a consumer of music I myself feel that need of anew, and as long as there are individuals craving for that, no matter how small, it gives us that fighting drive to push forward to fill that need”.

That may be the bands idealistic approach to their music but in simplicity (which the band is proud to associate their music to) It would be the need to just rant, vent out emotions, complain, profoundly execute their feelings in forms of notes, beats, rhythm and screams. Social/personal would be the best labeling for the concept of the songs. If it’s not some hatred for a family member, a cop, mmda, or just someone in the so-called scene their loving touch extends to child welfare programs (one of their songs entitled “Child well fare- unwell- unfair”). Clearly the bands influence as simplistic as it seems has some deeper augmentation in the concept of their music, the marketing of their music as they see it is at a critical platform for the fact that basically their music is on the negative side, which is usually not ingested well in social normality. They are putting frustrations at the forefront (tough reality at its finest form) with the hopes that some would take a bite and do something and appreciate. They’re just a bunch of guys that want it plain, simple and hard-hitting. “Complain for change!”

Recently won the 2007 “World battle of the bands” Philippine division that makes them the official representatives of their home country against other countries such as- Australia, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore just to name a few. They fly to Singapore this November to compete.

The band continues to gig around locally. They recently released their first music video which is also their first single entitled “Pats Problem”, that went #1 at NU107.5 the song was inspired by LC’s uncle that doesn’t do anything but sit around the house, and watch TV all day long, too lazy to work, doesn’t help out with the bills, and eats all their food. “He’s such a hassle up to this day he’s still a burden that’s why he’s one of my inspirations when I compose music, we made him an example of what not to be-LC.

The 2nd single which is currently played at NU107.5 “3 for 100” is about how generic sale products are so inferior In quality compared to their branded counterparts and hope that manufacturers would create better sale products to benefit the common man.

“We are not just selling music alone, we are trying to sell an idea, which is not the easiest thing to do considering that the basic idea is complaints in the form of music, we are putting everything that frustrates us as commoners on a silver platter and hope for change –Reklamo
